Northern Polar Map using the Stereographic Projection
Compressed KML (KMZ) is not supported. The GeoRSS option only supports single point (pushpin) markers. Files larger than 5MB are rejected and will not be plotted.
The Stereographic Projection is a conformal azimuthal projection with a projection plane that is a tangent at the map's central location (ie. North Pole in the above example), and a projection point located at the opposing pole (ie. the South Pole in the above example). Further information can be found on the Stereographic Projection information page.
