Northern Polar Map using the Orthographic Projection
Compressed KML (KMZ) is not supported. The GeoRSS option only supports single point (pushpin) markers. Files larger than 5MB are rejected and will not be plotted.
The Orthographic Projection is a parallel projection onto a tangent plane (which touches the Earth at the North Pole in this example). It is very similar to the Near Sided Perspective Projection but with an observation height of infinity. Further information can be found on the Orthographic Projection information page.
